Consulting Services to Increase Impact and Capacity

Experience
Moira DeNike, Ph.D. has provided consulting services to nonprofit and public agencies for ten years. She holds both a Master's Degree and a Doctorate in sociology, and teaches Research Methods and Jails and Prisons in the Program for Criminal Justice Studies at San Francisco State University.

A native of San Francisco, she is herself a product of public education and believes that every child deserves high-quality public educational and enrichment services. She has evaluated the impact of gang intervention, youth development, conflict resolution, after school enrichment, and specialized educational programs in several Bay Area public school districts. She has also helped Bay Area school districts and communities secure funding for after school, health education, family literacy, and enrichment.

In addition to extensive work in program evaluation, grantwriting, and planning, her professional experience  includes three years as a counselor at San Francisco Juvenile Hall.

Moira specializes in working with program staff to identify key programmatic goals, and then find creative and meaningful ways to measure progress toward those goals. She enjoys the process of building logic models to help program staff and agency administrators better conceptualize how program activities fall in line with larger goals. She prides herself on her ability to design questionnaires and is a skilled analyst of both quantitative and qualitative data.

Moira's efficient writing has won grants in the millions for public agencies and private nonprofits, where she teaches administrators how to turn program data into program dollars.

Moira DeNike Consulting subcontracts with qualified colleagues with backgrounds in program evaluation, youth development program design, victims services, and criminal justice systems.
